Causes

Natick Service Council is an independent, non-profit organization that connects, engages and collaborates with the community to support Natick neighbors who are experiencing hardship or economic uncertainty by promoting self-sufficiency.

The Natick Service Council assists families and individuals with:

• Case Management Services
• Food Security through the heart healthy food pantry and the Vi Tutuny food pantry
• Emergency Financial Assistance
• Holiday Programs and After School Enrichment

The Natick Service Council has provided:

• 2,400 separate visits to the Food Pantry - serving over 6,000 people
• Over 11,000 bags groceries to Natick residents
• Over 100,000 pounds of food to Natick residents
• Over 237 families with housing and heating assistance
• 242 students with backpacks full of back-to-school supplies

Established in 1979, A Place To Turn is committed to providing emergency food and clothing to our neighbors in the Metrowest community. A Place To Turn is focused on providing a friendly environment while providing choice food and clothing to those in need.

The organization:

• Assists approximately 3,500 households each year
• Serves 12,000 individuals annually
• Helps children, who comprise 45% of individuals they serve
• Distributed 130 Thanksgiving baskets

The Disabled American Veterans organization became as it is known today in 1977 after agreeing to help promote research for PTSD. The DAV began to implement an outreach program in six cities. After seeing the pronounced positive effects on veterans, similar counseling programs were implemented in 63 cities, including Boston.

Today, the DAV of Massachusetts helps our disabled veterans by:

• Helping veterans obtain the benefits they deserve from the VA
• Advocating for veterans' rights on Capitol Hill
• Helping veterans find jobs, homes, and health care
• Providing transportation to hospitals
• Bringing veterans together to share the physical, mental and emotional injuries from which they may suffer
• Providing food and shelter to Massachusetts' homeless veterans
• Giving emergency medical grants to veterans who are injured in natural disasters

All of this good work is done for free and without government funding.

The DAV of Massachusetts empowers our state's veterans to lead the fulfilling lives they desire.
